Why Grain-Free?
A grain-free diet helps sensitive digestion
Although most dogs can digest grains without any problems, there are still some that struggle and are prone to digestive problems such as constipation. All our products are of highest quality and specially formulated using the right balance of key nutrients – just without the grains.
Choose high-quality ingredients
Dogs can suffer from food allergies. Although it’s relatively rare for dogs to become intolerant or allergic to grains, when this does happen it can be a difficult time for both pets and owners – that’s why we eliminate the chances all together.
Grain-based ingredients such as wheat, maize, and soya are frequently used as fillers in commercial dog food. While these fillers may create a sense of fullness, they often have low nutritional value and can be difficult to digest. Choose a high-quality, grain-free meal like ESSENTIALS, and you're likely to notice positive changes in your dog's overall well-being.
Behavioral Optimizing Foods (BOF)
What is Behavioral Optimizing Foods (BOF)?
A significant part of the idea behind the ESSENTIALS meals, is to keep your dog's blood sugar stable. In the same way that it applies to people, it applies to dogs (even more so) that when the blood sugar is running low or high, significant fluctuations both mentally and physically takes place.
All of our meals are composed in order to avoid these fluctuations; creating a new standard of foods - for your dog. The principle we have developed is BOF (Behavioural Optimizing Foods) and has been extremely well received.
BOF – A sensation within pet foods
Behavioral Optimizing Foods (BOF) is the principle honoring the many advantages, of keeping the blood sugar levels stable throughout the day. At ESSENTIAL FOODS we have achieved just that with our life-changing and award winning foods. BOF ensures the stability of your dog’s sugar levels.
Our high fresh meat content and the low preparation temperature means your dog gets exceptional nutritional values vs. mass-branded pet foods. The results with BOF are breathtaking. Serving ESSENTIALS positively will affect the mental balance of your dog. Some report seeing a dramatic transformation in the behavior, others note a smaller change, however improvement is always recorded.

FAQ
Curious about this meal, but not sure it’s for you? We answer the two most frequently asked questions here.
1 · How does ETERNAL ensure my dog gets the right nutrients?
When choosing a meat-free meal, it’s important to find other valuable sources of protein, fats, minerals and vitamins. ETERNAL contains not just one but multiple sources of protein, the most important being brown rice protein, field beans, peas and chickpeas. These plants contribute vegetarian oils, essential amino acids and minerals, in particular brown rice protein, which is rich in protein and many essential amino acids. It is no wonder that it is one of the most popular sources of protein for people who prefer a vegetarian or vegan diet. We have also added sunflower and rapeseed oils, which are rich in minerals and unsaturated fat. And to top it all off, we’ve added eggs, which you can read more about in the answer to question 2.
2 · Why add egg to the recipe instead of aiming for 100% plant based?
Egg is an excellent source of protein, essential amino acids, omega-3 and the nutrients lutein and choline (vitamin B), while having a significantly lower environmental impact compared with other animal-based sources of nutrients. Furthermore, egg has a very high degree of protein digestibility, around 97%, which means that nearly all of the protein is absorbed. By adding both powdered and fresh free-range eggs, we ensure that ETERNAL meets the high nutritional standards of the meals in our LIVING series. We may offer a 100% plant-based meal at some point in the future, and if we do, we guarantee that we will not compromise on nutritional quality.

FEATURED INGREDIENTS

Rice
A surprisingly nutritional ingredient. In a natural process, the rice grains are ground and then treated with an enzyme that removes the starch, leaving behind a very potent ingredient that is high in protein and contains many essential amino acids. It is no wonder that brown rice is one of the most popular sources of protein for people who prefer a vegetarian or vegan diet.

Egg
An important source of protein, essential amino acids and the nutrients, lutein and choline (B-vitamin). Freshly prepared eggs from cage free chickens.

Chickpeas
Chickpeas are high in protein and fibre, making them a popular ingredient in plant-based diets. They bring vitamins and minerals to the table as well – magnesium, potassium, copper, calcium, and vitamins A and B are all part of the package.

Sunflower
Sunflower oil is growing in popularity for good reason. Not only is it rich in unsaturated (healthy) fats and but it also contains a generous amount of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and provides vitamins E & K as well.

Field beans
Field beans come in small packages but are loaded with protein, fibre, and nutrients. Among others, they provide folate, vitamin B1, and zinc

Algae
Algae absorbs its nutrients from the surrounding water and is therefore rich in both vitamins and minerals, while also providing a splash of omega-3. Fun fact: fish can't produce omega-3 themselves, so they get their dose of omega-3 from algae as well (only in ETERNAL LIVING).
